The importance of waterproof industry in Chinese roof greening
China didn’t research and develop the roof greening until late 1960s. For more than five decades, people are gradually aware of the importance on roof greening.
Nevertheless, due to lack of awareness on the waterproof factor, the roof leakage becomes the hard nut for most of roof gardening projects in China. Some engineering projects are being leakage just within a year. It is very pessimistic for the promotion of roof gardening.
In other words, now it is very urgent to improve the waterproof material so as to maximize the value of roof greening.
The supports from Chinese government and society
During the 13th Five-Year Plan, it is the golden age of the waterproof industry in China. Under the banner of breaking through this bottleneck, government departments, industry enterprises, constructors, technicians are all exerting themselves to the roof waterproof industry.
Now, the governments at all provinces edict some papers that are beneficial to the roof waterproof industry. For instance, Hangzhou government has implemented the edict on encouraging the roof gardening by government bonus. Guangxi Autonomous region has carried out the policy of city greening while Shanghai has also launched into the green building exhibitions for raising the awareness of the public and beefing up the waterproof industry. In other words, there is good opportunity once in a blue moon for the waterproof industry.
Moreover, TPO waterproof membrane, as a novel but popular waterproof material in western countries, has been introduced into China and proved a big hit. Besides, oversea leading brands such as DAVCO from Germany, Pattex, Sika, MAPEI are dominating the main waterproof markets of China.
