Chen's Ancestral Temple
The ancestral temple for the whole clan of the Chen in Guangdong Province, also called Chen Clan Academy, was designed by Li Julin and built from 1890-1894, Qing Dynasty when Emperor Guangxu reigned over the country. The whole structure faces the south and covers 15,000 square meters with 6,400 square meters as principal section. Chen¡¯s Ancestral Temple is known for its superb art of decoration for it epitomizes the folk decoration art of Guangdong. It is also famous for "three kinds of carving, three kinds of sculpture and one kind of iron casting"
Shang Xia Jiu-Site of "The Hongs"-Original Chinese import and export Firms
Streets lined with tenement houses formerly used as offices and homes of Chinese traders doing business with foreigners are being preserved and renovated into shopping and dining facilities. A pedestrian zone and a night market make Shang Xia Jiu a popular spot for tourists and local's alike(Metro Line 1-Changshou Lu Station).
Pearl River Promenade

Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall
Built to commemorate the founder of modern China-Dr.Sun Yat Sen, the location of the building is on the original site of the presidential house. The traditional octagon-shaped Chinese palace style architecture is a masterpiece of modern China (Metro Line 2- Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall Station).
Western Han Nan Yue King Museum
During the site excavation for the construction of the China Hotel twenty years ago, a Han Dynasty tomb was discovered. The tomb has a history of more than 2,000 years and is the oldest underground structure ever discovered in southern
China(Metro Line 2-Yue Xiu Park Station).
Guangzhou TV Tower
It is one of the world¡äs most spectacular new building. It is not only the world¡äs tallest TV tower (600m), beating Toronto¡äs CN-tower (553m), but also a surprisingly beautiful structure.
Mark Hemel, the IBA architect that together with his partner Barbara Kuit designed the Guangzhou TV tower, comments, ¡åWhere most skyscrapers bear ¡ämale¡ä features; being introvert, strong, straight, rectangular, and based on repetition, we wanted to create a ¡äfemale¡ä tower being complex, transparent, curvy and gracious.¡å ¡åOur aim was to design a free-form tower with a rich and human-like identity that would represent Guangzhou as a dynamic and exciting city. We therefore wanted it to be non-symmetrical so that the building would look as if ¡äin movement¡ä and ¡äalive¡ä. The result is a tower like a ¡äsexy female¡ä, the very reason that earned her the nickname: ¡äXiao Man Yao¡ä.¡å which means "young girl with tight waist"
Guangzhou Yuexiu Park
Yuexiu Park is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou.The Five-Ram Sculpture is one of the most famous structures in Guangzhou.The legend has it that more than 2,000 years ago, Guangzhou was a barren land with people who despite hard work were suffering from famine. One day five immortals in five-color garments came riding on five rams, playing their legendary music. The rams held sheaves of rice in their mouths. The immortals left the sheaves of rice for the Guangzhou people, gave blessing to the city and left. The rams turned into stone and the city of Guangzhou became a rich and populous place. Guangzhou got the name of the City of Rams and the City of Ears.
